Celebrate the end of summer in Cripple Creek, a historic mining town with a unique charm, where the changing leaf colors provide a stunning backdrop for a truly memorable experience. It’s a perfect stop on your annual “leaf peeping” tour in one of the most beautiful regions in the United States. Your visit will be made even more special by the presence of the town's beloved herd of donkeys. These gentle creatures live in the donkey pasture a short drive west of town and can sometimes be seen roaming freely throughout the summer.
Fall Fest is a one-of-a-kind celebration, bursting with autumn’s cozy charm and Rocky Mountain cool nights. Picture crisp mountain air, golden aspens, and the warmth of community coming together for two unforgettable days.
Guests will enjoy everything from pumpkin patches and wood carving to gold panning, hay treasure hunts, a pet parade, pumpkin bowling, delicious food, refreshing beer gardens, and steaming hot Fall drinks. The fun continues with live music, donkey braying contests, and our beloved Cripple Creek Donkeys. Snag your free annual Fall Family and Friend Photo at our ever-popular Fall Fest Photo Booth. On Saturday evening, finish off your perfect day in our charming historic town with a classic family movie under the stars, complete with popcorn and your favorite movie candies!
You'll be enchanted by the sight of the “World Famous Cripple Creek Donkeys,” cared for by the dedicated volunteers of the Two Mile High Club for 95 years running! This celebration of autumn, combined with the unique historical character of Cripple Creek and its famous donkeys, offers an experience you won't find anywhere else.
Kids Zone
Our giant kid’s zone is back, and as always, it offers a safe and engaging space with plenty of activities for the little ones, from face painting to pumpkin decorating. All kids’ activities are FREE.
Pet Costume Parade
Join Dennis the Emu as the Grand Marshal of this year’s pet parade! Kids of all ages are welcome to walk in the parade with their favorite costumed pet or stuffy. And participants are also encouraged to dress in costume to make it extra fun. Prizes, laughter, and smiles await.
Chainsaw Carvers
Come witness the impressive artistry of chainsaw carving as sculptors transform logs into stunning works of art and shop for a carving of your own.
Donkey Braying Competition
Got a bray that can't be beat? Warm up those vocal cords! We're calling all contestants, young and old, to give us their best human donkey impression.
Live Music
With music flowing from three different stages, you can craft your perfect festival experience. Our schedule is packed with variety, offering a sound for every moment, from the authentic feel of bluegrass and country to the legendary riffs of classic rock.
